Cape Kiwanda. Oregon

On our 11th wedding anniversary, we made it over to the Oregon coast. My sister took Evie and we took the older 3 kiddos with us. Our first stop is Cape Kiwanda located about 25 min. north of Lincoln City. My first visit ever! There is this amazingly huge mountain of sand that takes effort to hike up in reaching the top. We stopped half way for our photographer, Madison, to have us pose together. She did a great job. I'm really not that short-- or am I?
A little fishing boat that came speeding in from the ocean and parked right up onto the sand. I had never seen this kind of docking method before. We must of thought it was pretty neat due to the amount of pictures we have of us with this vessel.
This is at the top of the sand summit and we were told to make a "goofy" face. I most definitely have mellowed over the years. Lets just stick with the 'ol fashioned smile. The cool little fishing boat again.
This just washed up to shore and landed into the palm of my hand. OK, so Scott got creative this time with "the boat" and added some dimension.

All in all, the trip was quick, fun and uneventful~ in a safe way. The children...well, let's just say, they did OK~ but next year, we're definitely going somewhere to celebrate by ourselves! :)

Madison's Baptism

Our little 8 year old, Madison, was baptized back in May. It was also Scott's thirty something BD. That made it extra special. G-pa and G-ma Ricks, Aunt Kimberly and Uncle John were able to come out to Portland. Great friends attended and Maddy got some really special gifts from them. We are glad to have a special daughter and great example living with us.
